“Smash the fascists! Pavlos lives!” chanted tens of thousands of protestors outside the Athens courthouse, and throughout Greece, as an historic court sentence condemned the neo-fascist Golden Dawn as a “criminal organization” and convicted dozens of its leaders of serious crimes. The sentence is a direct result of years of mass antifascist struggle over the last years, which reached mass proportions and saw tens of thousands repeatedly take to the streets, especially in response to the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas by Golden Dawn thugs in 2013, a crime for which Golden Dawn members were also convicted on 7 October. In this video, Nikos Anastasiadis, anti fascist activist and leading member of Xekinima (Internationalist Socialist Organization in Greece) reacts.
