Iran: Sharifeh Mohammadi’s death sentence revoked

According to Sharifeh Mohammadi’s lawyer, the Iranian regime’s Supreme Court has recently revoked her death sentence.

There has been widespread support for Sharifeh Mohammadi within the Iranian workers’ movement and campaign groups in exile. In a statement published on October 12th, the Trade Union of the Tehran and Suburbs Vahed Bus Company Workers said: “… we are glad to see Ms Mohammadi’s death sentence revoked. Without a doubt, Sharifeh’s resistance, national and international campaigns and also solidarity of progressive workers’ movements were the main factors in this achievement.

“However, we emphasise her innocence and demand her immediate and unconditional release from prison.

“All workers’ advocates and political prisoners, including Pakhshan Azizi, must be freed from prison.”
